all the punks are crying now

Twenty-five copies of my new book – “It’s Like This” – arrived in San Diego yesterday. I took a picture of one on my phone and texted it to Gavin in Oakland. He almost immediately sent back a wildly joyous response, which included the title of this post – “All the punks are crying now.” As in, “You go, kid. Too cool for school.”

Ann bought five copies for family and friends. My nephew David on Cape Cod ordered one – he’s bought every one of my books. Gavin requested immediate delivery. It’s like this — I’ve written and now published a book at age 75. The Universe has noticed, abundance in all its knocking-on-the-front-door as well as plethora of disguises has shown up. I almost hear the day whispering, “Right on.”

There’s still drought in southern Mexico. A guy asked me for forty cents on the street yesterday. And my computer suddenly shut down my publishing site last night. It promises forever. Maybe all the punks are crying for all that too. Mostly I’m aware how lucky I am to still get to participate on any day I get to wake up and get up again.
