everyone’s gone to the moon
This is insane.
I’ve already sat zazen (meditation) on the zafu (cushion) two times for 17 minutes each, a small bow in between. I’ve gone outside to look at the stars, found the moon’s brightness glowing lots of them un-see-able. I’ve had my first cup of coffee, and read more from Ann Lamott’s book on writing – ‘Bird By Bird’ – and decided it’s too ‘cute’ for me and added it to the library return pile.
I’ve poured a second cup of coffee, put it in the microwave for 59 seconds to heat it up. I’ve emptied the coffee grounds in the little compost bucket, and wiped with a sponge condensation drippings (while pouring cup two) off the counter and stove.
It’s 3:28 a.m.
Yesterday I announced I’d clicked the “Go Live” button on my new website Saturday afternoon. I’ve been considering a new personal site for months, and worked on it for weeks, and now here it is – 148curiousthings.com – Pictures of books and paintings and stuff.
I never know if anyone, in their busy life, will pay a moment’s attention to the next thing I’ve created, and that not knowing has become more okay over a long time. Like my last published book – “It’s Like This” – which stalled after some initial sales, I’m proud that I’ve added something to the planet. Now including a new painting, “Home”, with a couple of small fixes left, showing up yesterday.
And all this here at 4:45 on a Monday morning.
I love the new painting, “Home”!
Thanks David. I like it a lot.
