Before and on this morning’s walk, I’m thinking I see myself as a kid, while others, passing, see me as wrinkles and a cowlick.
Which immediately brought to mind hearing Hendrix sing, “Scuse me while I kiss the sky.”

That’s one of four lines that keep recurring to me. The others are, in no particular order, although the one I list first, a book & movie title, is definitely first: “No country for old men.”
Another, in the voice of Linda Ronstadt, to justify my non-marital status: “We’ll both live a lot longer if you live without me.”
And the last, which really should be first, but I don’t have the sense to follow good advice: “Really don’t mind if you sit this one out.”
