I spent nearly four days in Joshua Tree, CA, with Ann and the kids, and ventured (was transported by others) four times into its National Park. They got a lot of cool rocks there.

There is something ‘other’ about the milieu of that space – in and out of the park. I spent a fair amount of time within those nearly four days pondering how I could be, may become, completely different. Even took a bunch of notes.

Charles Laquidara, a disc jockey on Boston’s WBCN fm radio in the late 60’s and on, would end his show saying, “If the creek don’t rise and there ain’t no meltdown”, he’d be back again the next day. I feel that and acknowledge that every day here in my life now — If the creek don’t rise, I get to come back again tomorrow. This weekend I wondered about those “creek didn’t rise yet” possible tomorrows as something way, way different.
