brand new all over again

I spent a bunch of time the past two days revitalizing and energizing an online artist website I had joined for free in 2013. Maybe you know, maybe you don’t, I’ve begun painting again after a substantial lay-off related for the most part to my April ’21 divorce in Portland and the subsequent lack of any place in which to paint. At least that’s some of it; I could have been doodling more.

Anyway, there are something like 10 or 12 recently new paintings with the kid’s signature scrawled down the bottom, and they’ve been quietly suggesting to me they’d like a home – spiffy, if at all possible. So, I went back to the site, which I’ll highlight below, and found out there was really nothing I could do beyond the old stuff I’d done years ago without shelling out some dough to become a “premiere” member. Giving away money isn’t all that comfortable for me these days, but the kids (my paintings) were looking at me so expectantly I said sure and went ahead and spent the cash. Which opened all kinds of technical possibilities, and puzzles, and a lot of wonder and joy at the things the website can – and did – do with what now number 35 pieces of my art.

I don’t generally use this space in couchsurfing for anything beyond promoting joy and wonder and considering big questions and becoming fetchable in the day. But – big breath – this Monday I’ll love it if you will take a peek, see what you think, maybe share a few words. I’ll be most grateful.

(Ooops – Turns out I’m not allowed to embed the website, but if you were to google fineartamerica and search for Buddy Cushman, chances are you’ll find me there.) Like you find me here.
