I have discovered about 12 different viewpoints from which I can stare down to the glimmering, moving- along San Luis Obispo Creek. The search, and returns to those finds, again and again, has accounted for a bunch of the miles my ancient feet have accumulated.
I have a job interview this afternoon, a first here, at the Channel Islands YMCA. I don’t really have a sense of how it’s going to go. I’ve also applied for a slightly-paid internship at the San Luis Obispo Museum of Art. The post asked for a “recent” college grad. I tried to point out, in a slightly twisted cover letter, that as a college grad myself, “recent” sort of feels like a state of mind. Right?
Today’s Morning Pages found a few moments of awe at the possibility of working at a YMCA in San Luis Obispo, CA where I previously worked at a YMCA in Lawrence, MA – the poorest city in the state. Can you say, ‘Alice through the looking glass?’ It’s Dylan singing, “Aw Mama, can this really be the end? To be stuck inside of Mobile with those Memphis blues again.”
