a pilgrimage
“Being appropriate is not appropriate for a pilgrimage.” — John Tarrant
I believe it was while I was sitting in a Zoom Koan group Sunday morning when I decided to make no (other) decisions for one week. I don’t think I’d been thinking about this, but the fact is I’m decided out. Lengthy list in a steno pad every day I’ve been here – do this, decide this, look into this. Something like a calm came over me while listening to the musings of John Tarrant. Leave it be this week.
One decision is already made, to take my very first train ride, Thursday or Friday, warmth depending. Made possible with the generosity of Bob in Massachusetts and Joyce in Arizona.
Otherwise, I’m just on a pilgrimage. Like a lazy river.
Then again, making any pronouncement is plain old silly.
