Monday morning I took the Camry for an oil change, scooted to the clinic and received a long-delayed pneumonia vaccination, and caught my 10am appointment down the street for a set of four new tires.

At Valvoline I thanked the dude under my hood for being so thorough. At Kaiser in the nurse’s clinic I told the nurse I hold nurses in the highest of all regard on the planet. At Discount Tire I told the man and the young man washing the 15 foot showroom windows they do good work.

Sometimes I hear people wonder out loud what “the will” is for them. The will for me is clear — Be kind, be generous, bring compassion into the long day.
