coffee’s parameters
I went to bed at 7:30 last night and woke at 10:30, tossing and turning nearly another hour before giving in to awake-ness at 11:20. Water on my face in the bathroom, dressed, on my knees in the dark front room in what feels like ‘intention’ for the day – not drinking, being kind, open to all its offers.
Then into the office and taking a seat on the round cushion (zafu) for 34 quiet minutes. After, instead of the coffee and reading which follows each morning’s meditation, I went back to bed and fell asleep about two hours before the forever 3am cardinal chirping alarm did its wake-up sleepy head thing.
Then, surprisingly, back on the zafu for another 34 minutes. Enlightenment? Who knows. Wicked pain in my right side? Yeah.
It’s Wednesday, the first of six days ‘off,’ and other than walking to buy a new bag of coffee, I’m clueless.
