fetchable
I’ve come to believe there are dragons. I see them everywhere – in places I won’t mention, and right out in the wide open open.
I’ve spent the last week in Bend, Oregon with Ann and her sister Patty, and on seemingly endless walks there they were, those dragons, flashing their scales like winks from a co-conspirator. Sometimes taking the guise of a kingfisher, or a junked-up kayak silent on the Deschutes. Most often flaunting their glorious dragon-ess in the middle of the day. In sun showers. Under the falling rain.
The Zen Roshi Joan Sutherland says that if we do the work – which I take for suiting up and showing up in whatever human capacity you find yourself – if you do that work you become more “fetchable”. And then the day comes to fetch you.
Dragons came to fetch me in Bend, Oreon last week.
