A few months ago, after she had come into some unexpected money, Ann proposed a journey up the California coast, with funky, independent bookstores as anchors along the way. We leave Saturday.

Also a while back, Ann went on line and ordered a book to serve as something like “The Goonies” treasure map, writings and ravings about the unique qualities of every possible gathering of books for sale in fun building after building. Here’s a picture of that book.

There’s been road maps and informational web experiences, excited conversations all these weeks, and the waiting joy within this coming journey. A pilgrimage with the magic of a book as guide. All amidst the beauty of the California coast.

Ojai, Cayucos, Carmel, Half Moon Bay, Pismo Beach, and home again. Eight days in the week. As such, there may be a dearth of daily posts here at Couch Surfing while we are on the road – a dearth as in none. Pending any good fortune (read crazy luck) I may have getting my laptop to do what it has thus far refused to do – open the Admin section of this Blog site. Bread crumbs with the phone equally puzzling.

But, I will take notes, and plenty of photos. And give Ann the credit.
